BiH Firms Plan Millions In Investments and Jobs for 5,000 Workers

Large firms in BiH are planning for this year major infrastructure projects, and current projects are near completion. “Elektroprivreda BiH ” will intensify the realization of strategic projects, while the “Autoceste FBiH” will open new sites and continue the construction of the highway, according to Sarajevo Dnevni Avaz. The investment for the Hydropower company “Vranduk” , whose construction will commence this year, is approximately 127 million KM, and will be financed from the budgets of BiH power plants. We have planning approval, and in the meantime are solving the issue of property right. Construction will begin this year, while the start of production is scheduled for 2017, according to the power plants. Besides this project, in talks is the implementation phase of the preparation for the construction of wind farms “Podvelezje”. This investment is worth 140 million KM, and work will begin in 2015. A consultant has not yet been selected, and preparations for the procurement procedure of major equipment has begun. This year the construction of small hydro power plants along the Neretva will begin, which will cost 97 million KM. The work will last for two years. As for the project Autocesta FBiH, the plan is to build 55 kilometers of highway on Corridor 5C. The construction of an additional 18 kilometers of highway will soon begin. “It is about Svilaj-Odžak Butila-Vlakovo and Drivuša-Klopče. With this, we will have three new operational sites. In this way, we develop the conditions that will eventually cross the magic figure of 100 kilometers of the highway by the end of 2014”, announced the “Autocesta FBiH” Ltd. Mostar. “Autoceste FBiH” will continue to intensify the construction of the highway on ten sites with more than 5,000 workers.
