The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, met on Saturday in Cairo with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, confirming the traditionally friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Egypt and their mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.

As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced on the X social network, the ministers exchanged opinions on current regional events and the situation in Gaza, emphasizing the need for permanent peace and a two-state solution.

During the meeting, a Protocol on Cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries was signed, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute for Diplomatic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina. These documents provide a solid institutional framework for the improvement of mutual cooperation.

The ministers also discussed the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region, emphasizing the importance of preserving regional stability and cooperation. Konaković introduced his Egyptian colleague to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path, stressing that integration into the European Union remains a strategic priority.

There was also talk of improving cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, tourism and connectivity, as well as future opportunities in the energy transition, digital economy, defense industry, agriculture and the development of the new generation halal industry.
