Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, met on the margins of the 19th Dubrovnik Forum with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Tone Kajzer, on June 27,2026.

Minister Konaković expressed gratitude to the Republic of Slovenia for its continued and principled support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s EU path, especially through engagement within the Friends of the Western Balkans initiative. Konaković also thanked the country for its readiness to continue providing expert and technical support to our reform and EU integration processes.

Interlocutors also discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reform priorities, European integration processes, regional cooperation, and security challenges in the Western Balkans. It was highlighted that continuation of reforms, strengthening of the rule of law, and functional institutions are key prerequisites for accelerating Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path.

Minister Konaković pointed out that the continuation of strong international support is crucial for securing stability and the EU’s perspective on Bosnia and Herzegovina. He noted the importance of the OHR’s full term until the “5+2” agenda is met. Konaković added that Bosnia and Herzegovina needs a credible and unbiased High Representative who is well-acquainted with the situation in the country and can contribute to the political dialogue, functionality of the institutions, and implementation of reforms.

Minister Kajzer confirmed strong and consistent support from Slovenia for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the Constitutional Order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing that in the upcoming period, the country will remain a reliable partner to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European Integration processes. He highlighted that Slovenia will continue to consistently advocate for the EU enlargement policy and show support to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the accession process. The country believes that Bosnia and Herzegovina’s EU membership has strategic significance for the stability, security, and prosperity of the entire European continent. He also confirmed that Slovenia is prepared to continue contributing constructively to joint efforts directed towards strengthening stability, security, and the European perspective of the Western Balkans.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Konaković thanked Slovenia for its friendship, continuous support, and consistent advocacy for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European future.  The interlocutors agreed that Bosnia and Herzegovina’s EU membership represents a long-term investment in peace, security, and prosperity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Western Balkans region, and Europe.
