The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, spoke today with the commander of the NATO headquarters in Sarajevo, General Matthew Valas, about the current political situation in BiH, reform processes with an emphasis on Euro-Atlantic integration, and security challenges in a geostrategic context.

It was emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina and NATO share a strong partnership, with the aim of strengthening and intensifying cooperation.

Konaković emphasized that NATO is the most important security partner that guarantees peace, security and economic development to our citizens.

He then referred to the work of the current BiH Council of Ministers and the progress achieved on the European path, as well as the Decision of the European Council on the opening of accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, stressing that solutions in BiH are only possible if there is dialogue, agreement and compromise. He assessed the presence of NATO in our country as extremely important, as well as the strong messages that the Alliance sends when it comes to peace and stability.

General Valas said that NATO stands by BiH and that it is determined to help build peace, security and prosperity in our country.

The interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to speed up the activities to fulfill the undertaken obligations, which are before our country, announced the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
