Bosnian-Herzegovinian footballer Kerim Alajbegović said goodbye to Austrian Red Bull Salzburg on Saturday after a season in which he achieved notable performances.
In a message to the fans, Alajbegović thanked the club for the trust they had shown him and stressed that he had enjoyed his time in Salzburg.
“I was welcomed very warmly and I thank the club for allowing me to develop so well. I really enjoyed myself on the pitch and I wish the club all the best in the future,” said Alajbegović.
He arrived in Salzburg at the beginning of the season from Bayer Leverkusen for two million euros, and after 43 appearances, in which he scored 12 goals and registered four assists, the German club activated the buyout clause and returned him for eight million euros.
According to media reports, Alajbegović could leave Leverkusen next season, given that the club is considering selling him to Italian Roma.
