BiH to fully take over the control of Air Traffic by the End of 2019

Director of the Agency for the Provision of Air Navigation Services (BHANSA), Davorin Primorac, stated that BiH will fully take over the control of its airspace by the end of 2019.

“This is our strategic goal. It depends a lot on the training of flight controllers, but we believe that we will have a sufficient number of authorized flight controllers in the second half of 2019 in order to provide services to the entire airspace of BiH,” stated Primorac.

Just a few years ago, BiH had almost no capacities at all in this area, and now it is about to take over the full control.

“The past period has been very successful for BHANSA, and what is very important, both the state and society have a direct benefit from all these activities,” noted Primorac. He also added that a few important goals were reached already in the first half of this year.

“I can say that BHANSA has grown into a very respectable agency, which has been recognized on the level of the entire Europe. This is a huge success for a country that had no capacities for the control of air navigation in its airspace until recently,” noted Primorac.

When asked how large is the air traffic above BH and how that affects revenues of BHANSA, Primorac stated that BHANSA is continuously increasing capacities in its airspace through safe and efficient provision of air navigation services.

“There were a total of 337,424 flights in the airspace of BiH from the beginning of this year until the end of November, which represents an increase of 37,844 flights or 12.63 % in comparison to the same period in 2016. In this way, we have achieved a significant increase of revenues and one of the main reasons for the increase is the introduction of free flight planning space through the project SEAFRA, which we have implemented together with service providers from other countries in the region,” concluded the leader of BHANSA.
