BiH Medical Association conducted over 490 Specialist Examinations free of Charge

Thanks to the BIMA Medical Association, Glamoc residents had the opportunity to undergo free specialist examinations, perform laboratory, ultrasound and radiological diagnostics and, on top of all that, receive prescribed medicines. The action was held in the elementary school – although it was announced at noon, the first patients had been waiting since the morning hours.

Thanks to medical workers and enthusiasts from BIMA, for one day Glamoč was flooded with kindness, and warm human words warmed their souls. Therefore, it is not surprising that the first contact at the triage point was in some way psychosocial help.

Dr. Mirsada Nadarević is a member of the Medical Association BIMA. They have a great desire, she says, to help – with early diagnosis and early prevention, much more serious diseases can be prevented: “The waiting time for specialist examinations is very long in all parts of our country, especially in smaller towns, where you have to travel to another city for a specialist examination.” .

“Today, I can get the services of gynecologists, radiologists, ophthalmologists, ECG services, dental services and other specialist doctors, because the medical team that came from Sarajevo today numbers 57 people, of which 50% are doctors, which speaks of the seriousness of the people who came, about the seriousness of what we want to provide to the common man today on the field”, emphasizes Hasan Mrkonjić, president of the BIMA Medical Association.

In the local self-government, they do not hide their satisfaction with this humane and hopefully useful action, and the population is more than satisfied.

The mayor of Glamoč, Nebojša Radivojša, states that they only have a local health center and do not often have the opportunity to see a specialist: Our residents, if they want to see a specialist, have to go to Livno, or even to Mostar or Banja Luka”.

It was BIMA’s 101st free medical assistance campaign, and the second in Glamoč. It lasted more than five hours, during which 492 examinations were performed and 455 services of various specialties were provided.
