The Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees in the Council of Ministers has 2,000,000 BAM at its disposal, which will be allocated through project activities to local communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the improvement of the infrastructural position of the Roma, said the minister in charge, Sevlid Hurtić.
In Doboj, after a meeting with Mayor Boris Jerinić, Hurtić told reporters that these funds are exclusively intended for those local communities inhabited by Roma, and based on a list of the numerous situation of Roma in the field that he requested to be delivered to him in order to prevent possible abuses. .
“The funds are intended for the construction of houses, the legalization of buildings, health and education,” specified Hurtić.
He announced that the relevant ministry will try to include all local communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina with infrastructure projects during the next four years.
When it comes to the process of closing collective centers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hurtić stated that the funds were transferred to the Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH.
He expects that a residential complex with 134 apartments for the refugee and displaced population will be in operation in the Doboj settlement of Bare already in September, for the exterior decoration of which BAM 1,500,000 has been provided, the tender documentation for which has been announced.
“I expect that it will be resolved before the big donor conference that will be held in Sarajevo, given that it is a big project, a donation of 60,000,000 euros for Bosnia and Herzegovina. I hope that those 134 families will move in by that conference,” said Hurtić.
He says that he also discussed with Jerinić the project of building a water supply system in Bukovački Čivčije, Kladari and two other settlements, whose tender of 500,000 BAM was rejected by one supplier.
“It was agreed that the tender will be held again these days and that supplier who caused problems will not be able to apply. We hope that it will end and that by the end of the year those four villages will have water,” said Hurtić.
The mayor of Doboj pointed to the good cooperation so far with Hurtić, with whom numerous projects on the improvement of the infrastructure of the returnee population were implemented in this city when he was the minister of trade and tourism of the Republic of Srpska, and the coordinator for the return to Doboj.
He announced that this year the City and the Federal Ministry for Refugees and Displaced Persons will jointly participate in the reconstruction of 140 houses in Doboj, in a ratio of 51:49, and that together with the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees, the position of the Roma will be improved infrastructurally, and solved the problem of the collective center.
Jerinić is satisfied that the coordination of institutions at all levels is functioning well in this city.
