The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Minister of Defense, Zukan Helez, held a meeting with the leaders of the company THALES during an official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria. THALES specializes in the production and sale of radars for airspace control.

Minister Helez expressed his gratitude to the company leaders for their warm welcome. During the meeting, he emphasized that BiH must have full control of the airspace over the entire country.

“The Ministry of Defense of BiH has already initiated preliminary steps with this company for the purchase of radars. During the visit, we had the opportunity to learn about the characteristics of the radars they produce. The GM400 long-range radar and the GM 200 medium-range radar meet our country’s needs for airspace control,” said Helez.

Minister Helez stressed that significant financial resources are required to purchase such radar systems, but he is confident that BiH will soon achieve full control of its airspace thanks to the assistance of friends and partners from the European Union (EU), primarily through the EU fund – the European Peace Facility, according to a statement from the Ministry of Defense of BiH.
