The delegation of BiH, led by the FBiH Minister for Environment and Tourism Branko Đurić spent the last few days in Moscow, where one of the biggest tourist fairs in Europe and the biggest fair in Russia “MITT 2013” was held.
The tourist potential of BiH was presented at this fair for the first time.
The private and public BiH public sector, with the help of the FBiH Minister for Environment and Tourism and the Ministry for Tourism and Trade of the RS, the BIH Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry for Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, and many visitors and potential tourist partners presented what is available in BiH and achieved a remarkable performance.
The Minister of Environment and Tourism Branka Đurić and the Ambassador of BiH to Russia Ivan Barbalić, at whose invite and proposal BiH tourism professionals were invited to the fair, agreed that this would be a good step forward in the promotion of tourism. They agreed that the Russian market is very interesting and that it needs to be given more attention.
“This is only the beginning, and we hope that our successful business with the Russian market, which is very interesting and is truly in our interest and to the mutual satisfaction of improving cooperation and the tourist offers to our tourists, as well as the offers of BiH tourist destinations to Russian cities’’, said Minister Đurić.
During his stay in the capital city of Russia, Minister Đurić and Ambassador Barbalić met with Alexandar V. Radkov, the President of the Federal Agency for Tourism to the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the Vice-President of the Russian Union for Tourism Yuri A. Barzykin. They mostly spoke about the promotion of BiH and its inclusion into the offer as a tourist destination that will be offered to Russian tourists.
“Russians love to travel. They especially like to travel in countries that have sea, lake, spa and wellness center, which you have, as well as Olympic mountains and ski-resorts that are competitive in the market with not only its beauty, but with its price. We are pleased to hear that you presented at MITT and that many had opportunities to see that BiH is a very interesting country and has a lot to offer. This is only the beginning, and it is a good beginning and our cooperation will certainly continue’’, said Alexandar Radkov, the President of the Federal Agency for Tourism to the Ministry of Culture of Russia.
