BiH records a significant Increase in Number of Tourists’ Arrivals

In April of this year, 99,658 tourists visited the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is 17.2 percent more than in April 2023, and compared to March of this year, the number of tourists is 48 percent higher. The participation of domestic tourists is 24.4 percent, and foreign tourists 75.6 percent.

There were 75,297 foreign tourists, and 24,361 domestic guests.

The most foreign guests were from Turkey (14,346), Croatia (10,404), Slovenia (5,167), Serbia (4,603) and China (4,398)…

The total number of overnight stays by tourists in April 2024 was 181,938, which is 13.3 percent more than in April 2023, and 40.6 percent more than in March of the current year. The participation of domestic tourists is 23.4 percent, and foreign tourists 76.6 percent.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the largest number of overnight stays in the FBiH was realized within the category of hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 95.9 percent, according to data from the Federal Bureau of Statistics.

In the structure of overnight stays by foreign tourists, the most overnight stays were made by tourists from Turkey (14.6 percent), Croatia (12.9 percent), Slovenia (6.1 percent), Serbia (5.7 percent) and the USA (5.3 percent), which is a total of 44.6 percent. Tourists from other countries accounted for 55.4 percent of overnight stays.

The number of available beds in FBiH in April 2024 was 30,858, which is 1.4 percent more than in April 2023. The net occupancy rate for hotels and similar accommodation in the Federation of BiH was 21.9 percent, Fena news agency writes.
