BiH records Decrease in the Number of employed Persons

At the end of April, 249,517 persons were registered in the records of the cantonal employment services in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is a decrease of 4,180 compared to the previous month.

Of the total number of unemployed, 171,046 (68.55 percent) are skilled, 78,471 (31.45 percent) are unskilled, and 86,520 (34.67 percent) are seeking employment for the first time. 48,630 people between the ages of 15 and 29 were registered on the unemployment register, the Federal Employment Agency announced.

In that month, 11,940 people were deregistered from the unemployment register (of which 7,053 were employed), which is 3,002 more than in the previous month, while in the same period 7,760 people were registered (of which 6,030 after termination of employment), which compared to the previous month is 491 less.

In April, there were 10,787 beneficiaries of unemployment benefits, which is a decrease of 583 compared to the previous month. In that month, 180,626 people obtained the right to health insurance through the cantonal employment services, which is 3,588 less than in the previous month. 311 persons used the right to pension and disability insurance.

At the end of March this year, there were 541,925 registered employed persons in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Compared to the previous month, the number of employees decreased by 148, or 0.03 percent.
