BiH Should Take Over Its Air Traffic by Mid-2014

Minister of Communication and Transport Damir Hadžić spoke today with the newly elected General Director of “Eurocontrol” Frank Brenner and the Director for Civil Aviation (BHDCA) Đorđe Ratkovica about the establishment of conditions for the Agency regarding the provision of air navigation services (BHANSA) so BiH can assume full air control over its territory.

During the meeting they exchanged opinions on the phase of taking over full control of flights in BiH.

Minister Hadžić said that BHANSA will be ready to start its work in full capacity by end of March 2013.

‘’The first phase, which is related to the taking over of the lower sky, will be finished by the end of 2013 at the latest. Foreign providers will extensive experience in this area will be hired’’, said Minister ” Hadžić and said that BiH is expected by 2014 to take over full air control over BiH.

Director Brenner said that it is in the interest of Eurocontrol that all air routes in Europe to take place safely and that his institution will lend support to BiH.
