Mirko Sarovic, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, met with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to BiH, Chen Bo, on the occasion of the final preparations for the Conference of Ministers of 16 + 1 Countries, which will take place this year from July 3 to 5, in Bulgaria.
The signing of a bilateral agreement between BiH and NR China in the field of veterinary medicine is planned on the conference, and it will enable the export of honey, milk and dairy products to this large market.
Moreover, they are also planning to sign the agreements that will promote cooperation between the two countries in the sector of tourism, especially after the abolishment of the visa regime.
“BiH is entering the final stage of preparations, and in that regard, it is expected for the construction of the Block 7 of TPP Tuzla to start before the summit,” said Minister Sarovic, and added that the Memorandum of Understanding was agreef with the Chinese State Insurance Corporation Sinosura.
They further emphasized the good cooperation with numerous Chinese companies so far, and announced important works on the construction and reconstruction of road and railway infrastructure, energy facilities and other significant investment projects in the territory of BiH.
The need for starting negotiations in the field of civil aviation, improvement of the payment system and other activities that are planned in this and the next year, were noted as one of the preconditions for expansion of cooperation.
The cooperation within the platform 16 + 1 has special place in this regard, and it offers opportunities not only for the improvement of commercial and economic cooperation of BiH with NR China, but also with 15 other countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which are members of this association, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH.
