BiH and Turkey to recognize Driving Licenses?

drivingOn yesterday’s meeting, the Council of Ministers of BiH concluded the Proposal of the agreement related to mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of the Republic of Turkey.

In accordance with this Agreement, BiH and Turkey will mutually recognize a valid driving licenses issued by the competent authority of one contracting party to persons that are touristic residing in the territory of another contracting party or to commercial drivers in transit.

Replacement of driver’s license that was issued by competent authorities of one contracting party, for the person who is legal resident in the territory of the other contracting party, will be carried out without taking the theoretical and practical examination for categories and subcategories of motor vehicles for which the original driving license has been issued.

The provisions of the agreement will not be applied to driver’s license issued in one of the contracting parties on the basis of replacement of driving licenses that are issued in third countries.

Proposal of the Agreement will be submitted to the Presidency of BiH on further legal proceedings, and the Minister of Communications and Transport was proposed for the signatory.

At yesterday’s session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, on the proposal of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, was adopted the Regulation on categorization of athletes at the level of BiH.

With this regulation will be defined the categories of athletes, the process of classification of athletes in categories, criteria for the categorization of athletes, forms and methods of realizing the rights that athletes realize on the basis of the categorization of athletes at the level of BiH.

The basis for the categorization of athletes is achieved significant sporting result, which athlete achieved on the official international competitions in the sporting disciplines that are in the official program of the Olympic Games in the organization of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Paralympic Games in the organization of  the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the Special Olympics in organization of the International Special Olympics, or the placement for participation in these competitions in a way and under the conditions prescribed by this Regulation.

The categories are determined by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH in accordance with the provided resources from the budget of BiH in the “Grant for the award of prizes to deserving athletes and top athletes of international class”.

The Council of Ministers of BiH established the Draft Agreement on the Establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office of the Western Balkans (RYCO), which will be submitted to the Presidency of BiH on further procedure, with the proposal of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdic, to be the signatory.

This agreement is following the objectives stated in the “Berlin process” and it is based on the “Joint Statement on the Establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office of the Western Balkans,” which was adopted on the 27th of August 2015, at a conference in Vienna, and it was signed by the prime ministers of Western Balkan countries.

The signing of the Agreement on the Establishment of Regional Youth Cooperation Office of the Western Balkans is planned on the 4th of July 2016 in Paris, during a meeting at the level of prime ministers.

The text of the agreement was agreed by the international working group, in which participated representatives of all the countries of the Western Balkans. BiH needs to allocate funds in the amount of 154,000.00 EUR annually for the implementation of the Agreement.

With the agreement was planned for the headquarters of RYCO to be in Tirana, Albania.
