Bihać to get an Airport?

bihac-airportPrime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton Husein Rošić promised the citizens that the airport will be built in that city. Prime Minister of the FBiH Fadil Novalić will be staying in Bihać tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, and one of the topics will be the construction of the Bihać airport.

Exactly one year ago, city authorities declared Bakir Izetbegović the honorary citizen of Bihać. Izetbegović was supposed to place the cornerstone for the airport. However, since the promised funds were never sent, even the former mayor Emdžad Galijašević told Izetbegović that he will not get anywhere near the cornerstone until the money is sent.

A year later, the new Mayor of Bihać Šuhret Fazlić wanted to revise the decision on the construction of the airport but the Prime Minister Rošić talked him out of it because the construction of the airport should commence this year.

The airport in Bihać has been discussed for more than ten years. Former Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton and the former mayor of Bihać Hamdija Lipovača then held a bilateral meeting on this topic, and the former president of Croatia Ivo Josipović and President of BiH Bakir Izetbegović stood behind this promise.
