The Registrar for the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Emira Hodžić, took part in the Third Forum of the Superior Courts Network (SCN) held at the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in Strasbourg on 6 and 7 June. The SCN is managed by the ECtHR, and each year the Forum presents to SCN members certain improvements in case law.

At the two-day forum, the participants had the opportunity to see a novel internet-platform within which the courts, SCN members, will be able to keep track of the current ECtHR case law per individual articles of the Convention. The platform will enable the application of the latest ECtHR jurisprudence in cases before the Court of BiH. Also, the participants were acquainted with the case law of the French cassation court in terms of the application of Protocol 16 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), which included the sharing of best practices in the domain. Also held in the framework of the Forum were two workshops from the field of immigrations and terrorism, which also included the presentation of the most recent ECtHR case law.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been participating in Network’s joint efforts aimed at improving dialogue among courts and promoting ECHR implementation, with a particular view to establishing practical and useful resources for the exchange of information between the ECtHR and national courts regarding the ECtHR jurisprudence, as well as the ECHR law and domestic law of members countries.
