On Tuesday, the 18th December, a drama ” Bio je lijep i sunčan dan…”   directed by Tanja Miletić-Oručević will be performed on the stage of the Sarajevo War Theater.

“Bio je lijep i sunčan dan…” is a documentary theater piece based on the recollections of memories of 78 citizens of Sarajevo on the same date of the 2nd May, 1992. The drama was inspired by the book called ” 2nd May- It was a beautiful and sunny day”, that was published for the first time in 2008.The book is actually a collection of stories, inscriptions and photos that were inspired by just one day of the siege, that is considered as the first day of the 1395 days of the Sarajevo siege.

2nd of May is a date that stayed in the memory of the citizens that survived the siege. The aim of this book was not to make a historical reconstruction of what had already happened but to reconstruct and repaint the emotional state of people who are strongly attached to this particular date.

Among those who published their emotions in this book, there is an equal number of old and young people, men and women, policemen, fire fighters, journalists, actors and actresses, directors, housewives and many others. In the end, all these memories form a mosaic of a warm, beautiful and sunny day that changes the lives of all citizens of Sarajevo forever.

The roles in this drama are played by Sonja Goronja, Mirela Lambić, Ana Mia Milić, Maja Salkić, Amila Terzimehić, Benjamin Bajramović, Adnan Kreso, Sead Pandur and Jasenko Pašić

The drama was realized as a coproduction between the Sarajevo War Theater and MESS Festival within the project of the Swiss cultural program of the Western Balkans called ”Network for Participative Cultures of Remembrance” .

The premiere of this drama was staged on the 17th May 2012, with which Sarajevo War Theater marked its anniversary and existence.
