The Olympic Center Bjelasnica-Igman is entering the final phase of preparations for the opening of the 2025/2026 winter season.

In the past weeks, work was intensively carried out on arranging the ski slopes, checking the snowmaking system, and servicing the lifts, and the situation on the ground confirms that the ski resort will be ready in the shortest possible time.

From the Olympic Center, they point out that all activities have been carried out according to plan, with emphasis on user safety, the stability of the surface, and the full functionality of technical systems.

“All cable cars and ski lifts have been serviced on time and technically inspected in accordance with regulations and internal safety procedures. Protective nets, pads, visual markings, and complete signage have been installed on the routes, as well as equipment for the safe entry, exit, and movement of users,” they state from Olympic Center Bjelasnica.

At the Olympic Center headquarters, they emphasize that the arrangement of the ski slopes has been carried out at full capacity: the slopes have been mowed, cleaned, and prepared so that better snow stability is ensured and melting is reduced during warmer intervals.

Currently, about 40 cm of natural snow that has fallen on the mountain is being treated, and machines are working on forming a compact base for the season.

From the Olympic Center, they also announced that the entire snowmaking system has been tested and is fully ready for operation, including pumps, water lines, snow guns, and automatic control. They announce that in the coming days, technical snow will be produced, especially in shaded sectors, in order to secure reserves for the final arrangement of the slopes.

Speaking about the weather conditions, they emphasize that no significant impact is expected from the announced precipitation and southern wind from November 27th to 29th, because, as they say, the surface has already been reinforced and cooled by machine processing. After the announced cooling from November 29th, the finalization of all works is planned, after which the ski resort will be ready to start operating.

“About 70 employees of the Ski Center are participating in the preparations, distributed across the sectors of slopes, transport, snowmaking, machines, safety, and operations. All teams are working intensively so that the conditions for the opening of the season are met at the highest level. We are entering the final phase of preparations, with the goal of opening the ski resort safely, with quality, and in accordance with the best standards of the ski industry,” they state from Olympic Center Bjelasnica-Igman.

They add that the official opening date of the season will be announced in due time, Klix.ba writes.
