The largest share of the prize belonged to the world champion, Spain, which earned 40 million dollars (68 million BAM), while Argentina, as the runner-up, earned 30 million dollars (51 million BAM).
Third-placed England received 27 million dollars (46 million BAM), while fourth-placed France received 25 million dollars (43 million BAM).
National teams that reached the quarter-final earned 17 million dollars each, while the teams eliminated in the round of 16, like Bosnia and Herzegovina, received 13 million dollars each (22 million BAM).
This is a record amount for the Dragons achieved at World Cups.
After the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina received eight million dollars (13.7 million BAM).
FIFA provided 9 million dollars for each national team eliminated in the group stage, along with an additional 1.5 million dollars for pre-tournament expenses.
