Bosnia has registered over 1.4 Million Tourist Visits

Bosnia and Herzegovina has registered 1,464,216 tourist visits in the period January – December 2022, which is 50.7 percent more compared to the same period in 2021.

In the period January – December 2022, there were 3,194,681 overnight stays, which is 41.4 percent more compared to the same period in 2021.

As a comparison, BiH registered 1,640,717 tourist visits in 2019, the year before the outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic, which was 12 percent more than in 2018 and 3,371,322 overnight stays, which was 10.9 percent more compared to the year before.

The number of overnight stays by domestic tourists last year was higher by 14.2 percent, while the number of overnight stays by foreign tourists was higher by 65.4 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

In the total number of overnight stays, the participation of domestic tourists was 37.8 percent, while the participation of foreign tourists was 62.2 percent.

In terms of overnight stays of foreign tourists, the highest number of overnight stays were realized by tourists from Serbia (14.5 percent), Croatia (14.2 percent), Slovenia (6.1 percent), Germany (5.3 percent), the United Arab Emirates (5. 1 percent), Turkey (5.0 percent) and Saudi Arabia (4.1 percent), which is a total of 54.3 percent. Tourists from other countries accounted for 45.7 percent of overnight stays, according to data from the BiH Statistics Agency.
