Bosnia keen to boost ties with Pakistan

Nedim MakarevicIslamabad: Bosnia and Herzegovina is keen to expand and strengthen relations with Pakistan, said Ambassador of Bosnia Nedim Makarevic while exchanging views with MNA Malik Shakir Bashir Awan here on Monday.

Malik Shakir Awan of PML-N is also convener of Pakistan-Bosnia Friendship Forum in the National Assembly. He remained the ambassador for quite some time.

The ambassador further said since his arrival in Pakistan he had taken a number of initiatives to promote bilateral relations.

He said both Bosnia and Pakistan share common values. Besides there is also a wide scope of cooperation between two countries in other fields such as trade, economy, culture and sports.

The ambassador said Bosnia should be considered as a important Geo-strategic European country.They would then surely be in a position to use Bosnia as gateway to Europe.

He extended full support to Malik Shakir Awan in his efforts to form Pakistan-Bosnia Friendship Forum and assured him he will do his best to support this initiative.

MNA Malik Shakir Awan in his brief remarks thanked the ambassador and assured him this forum will prove a milestone in terms to strengthening of relations between the two countries.

He said Pakistan was also keen to promote bilateral relations adding the government of Pakistan attached great importance to its ties with Bosnia. Malik Shakir added, the Forum would definitely contribute greatly towards building of new linkages with Bosnia.
