When you enter Belmin Costovic’s restaurant in Neu-Ulm, Germany, you feel like you’re in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

Belmin’s restaurant, “Traditionelle Balkankuche by Belmin”, completely exudes BiH. At the entrance of the restaurant, there are dolls dressed in traditional costumes, as well as an old sewing machine. Belmin comes from Tesanj, and he continued his life journey in Germany.

“I strive to make traditional Balkan food. I call the restaurant Balkan. I try to have something from each country in it,” says Belmin for the YouTube channel Auslenderi.

In BiH, he worked as an electrician and then moved to Italy, where he lived for 12 years. He also had his own restaurants there. His wife expressed a desire to come to Germany, where they have been building their life for five years.

“A person has ups and downs, but they have only truly lost when they give up. You must never give up. Just keep moving forward. You have failed when you have given up. I always have new ideas. These days, I’m going through permits because we are starting another business, and we will have mobile grills,” reveals Belmin.

In his family, everyone is a big gourmet, and he himself has come to love cooking.

“It’s in my blood. Whatever job you do, you must love it. For the meat to be good, it needs to be heated properly. The restaurant doesn’t depend only on me but on the whole team. I share my experience with them. Cevap is specific and needs to be constantly turned. We are also known for our mixed meat. What Sejo Brajlovic is in BiH, that is what Belmin is in Germany. I have the best roast and sell a ton of cevapi per month,” Costovic says, among other things, Biznis Info writes.
