Bosnian bought a Van as his first Vehicle, converted it into a Camper and travels around BiH

Adin Pinjo from Travnik has just completed his two-year project of converting a van into a camper a few months ago. From the initial idea to its realization, the journey was long, and he invested a lot of effort, knowledge, and finances into his first-ever vehicle. Now, he travels around Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) without worrying about where he will sleep.

In an interview, Pinjo said that he got the idea to create a camper five years ago when he also had plans to go to Germany. However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, he decided to stay in BiH, and he also started to realize his idea of converting a van into a camper.

“When the COVID-19 period started, I saw that I would never go to Germany, so I decided to work two jobs to save money for my first van, which was also my first vehicle. I considered all versions, from T3 to T5; they were all options, and at that time, I didn’t understand much about vans or cars. I found an ad in Travnik where a man was selling a van. The ad was posted at 12:15, and by 12:30, I had bought the van, which I didn’t even drive home because I was afraid to drive such a big vehicle,” Pinjo explains.

Asked why he chose a van as his first vehicle, he said he wants to travel with it and explain to people on his blogging site and YouTube channel how to reach certain tourist and historical locations in BiH.

“Everyone says we have ten waterfalls, but no one tells you how to get to them. The van is a great tool for me to explore BiH and to publish my travels through YouTube videos and written blogs on my site,” he adds.

Furthermore, he emphasizes that he worked on the conversion for more than a year and a half and that the project will never be completely finished. He found inspiration in American conversions, but his didn’t go as planned due to the difficulty of buying materials and parts in the region.

He mostly ordered everything he needed from Amazon, shipping it to family addresses in Germany and Austria, who then sent it to him in BiH.

“What took up most of my time was that no one in BiH knew anything about this, just like me. It was my first time working with some tools to make all this, and I watched YouTube videos on how to properly join boards, and a lot of time went into learning from mistakes.”

Pinjo has already started his travels around BiH, and in the coming months, he will be visiting Herzegovina.

“My goal is to visit interesting locations and record and publish everything on my channels. This is my project because I want to leave something behind, some knowledge that will be useful to young people who want to go somewhere but don’t know what the road is like, what they need to be careful of, and so on. In the coming months, with the nice weather, I will explore Herzegovina and continue working on the van,” concluded Pinjo in the interview, Klix.ba writes.
