The Satellite that passed over BiH fell into the Ocean

The European Space Agency’s ERS-2 satellite flew over Bosnia and Herzegovina today, and ultimately fell into the Pacific Ocean.

ERS-2 was launched from Earth in 1995 and was used to map our planet, and experienced a free and uncontrolled fall 30 years later.

Although its trajectory cannot be controlled, scientists claim that there was no danger of the satellite hitting a populated area, and they also provided a fairly detailed trajectory of the fall.

In the end, the “journey” ended in the Pacific Ocean, between Alaska and Hawaii.

It appeared above Bosnia and Herzegovina around 18:00 yesterday, and some citizens managed to record it.

The Orion Astronomical Society in BiH told us that due to the poor quality of our reader’s recording, it seems as if the object does not have the kind of trajectory required by a satellite, however they point out that it is most likely ERS-2, Klix.ba writes.
