The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Dubravka Bosnjak, hosted yesterday in Sarajevo the Austrian Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Family, Claudia Plakolm, with whom she discussed enhancing cooperation between BiH and the Republic of Austria in the areas of education, employment, science, culture, and youth policy.
Bosnjak expressed gratitude for the continuous support, particularly in European integration, as well as for the long-standing cooperation in education through the Austrian Agency for Education and Internationalization (OeAD).
The Minister assessed Austria’s support for the reform of vocational education and training (VET), curriculum modernization, and strengthening the link between education and the labor market as extremely important. She expressed interest in continuing cooperation in the development of career counseling systems, regulated professions, and youth policy.
In the field of healthcare, they discussed possibilities for exchanging experts and Austria’s support in BiH’s accession process to Eurotransplant and the FOEDUS IT platform. The need for exchanging experiences within European programs such as Horizon, EU4Health, Erasmus+, and others was also emphasized.
Austrian Minister Plakolm strongly supported BiH’s path to the European Union (EU) and praised the efforts made by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in this regard. The meeting in Sarajevo was attended by the Head of the Minister’s Office, Davor Bosnjak, Education Assistant Adnan Husic, and advisors Aleksandra Kolar and Mijo Pranjic.
The Austrian Minister is on a working visit to BiH on October 9th and 10th during her tour of the Western Balkan countries, the Office of the Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH announced.
