Bridge on the Drina River: How famous Sokolović Bridge looks from the Air (gallery)

[wzslider autoplay=”true”]The Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge (the Old Bridge in Višegrad) is located on the Drina River, and is one of the most monumental works of architecture that emerged in the period from 15th to 19th century in B&H.

Ivo Andrić’s novel The Bridge on the Drina, for which the author won the Nobel Prize and which was translated into many world languages, is based on the history of this bridge. Through the history of the bridge, the novel also presented the history of the entire region and many significant events related to the bridge.

The Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge is a national monument of B&H.
