trevorkristinaTrevor and Christina are young Canadians who quit their jobs, sold their houses and other property and decided to travel the world. These 37-year-olds have visited more than 60 countries until now, and this month they spent several days in BiH. On their website, where they write about their trips, they wrote that Sarajevo is a beautiful city with a sad past.

Trevor and Christina visited Mostar and Sarajevo. They found Sarajevo especially interesting because they explored it on foot.

“Compact enough to explore it by foot, historical enough to be interesting, and the old town feels like Istanbul,” Trevor and Christina wrote.

They wrote how BiH experienced a war and that today, more than 20 years later, the wounds from the past are still visible, although many new buildings have been built since.

“We saw the scars of war in Mostar and Sarajevo,” they wrote.

In order to get a better picture of war events and the siege of Sarajevo, these two tourists visited the surrounding hills from where the Serb aggressor bombed the city every day during the aggression.

They visited the White and Yellow fortresses, which give a beautiful view of Sarajevo. What reminded them of the fact that a war raged in Sarajevo are many cemeteries, especially the cemetery Kovači where many martyrs are buried.

Trevor and Christina visited several museums and the Tunnel of Hope. According to them, all ticket prices are affordable and there is a lot to see.

At the end of their travelogue, they both recommended everyone to come to BiH. They enjoyed every moment spent in Sarajevo, Mostar and other places. They especially highlighted the breathtaking mountains and delicious food – they wrote that no matter where you eat, you will not be wrong. They even wrote that the food is more delicious than in Croatia and Montenegro together!

“Prices are affordable, people are friendly. We never thought we will say this, but this is a country we would be happy to visit again,” Trevor and Christina wrote.
