At yesterday‘s meeting, the Canton Sarajevo (CS) Government gave its approval to the Ministry of Economy to co-finance several investment projects of KJP “ZOI ’84” Olympic Centre Sarajevo with amount of millions. Among them is the construction project of the parallel ski lift K2 in the amount of up to 2,800,000 BAM.

“Installing the new parallel ski lift K2 would increase the capacity and efficiency of vertical transport on Bjelasnica, reduce crowds, extend the tourist season, and increase the number of users, which ultimately results in an increase in the company’s income,” said Economy Minister Zlatko Mijatovic.

Yesterday, the government “gave the green light” for the construction of the new six-seater Stinji Do cable car, for which 20,000,000 BAM is planned.

“The new six-seater Stinji Do cable car would enable the relief of crowds at the Babin Do location, increase the capacity of vertical transport, and a certain number of users would use the new installation instead of the already built six-seater Olimpijski spust, which would ultimately result in the decentralization of the ski resort, and make the Stinji Do location significantly more frequent. Also, the benefits of this installation are an increase in the offer of summer facilities, given that the installation is planned for users’ panoramic rides, and its exit station is in the immediate vicinity of Lake Akumulacija II, which is an extremely attractive location for tourists,” mentioned Mijatovic.

Also, the ministers supported the co-financing of the Akumulacija III lake construction project, in the amount of up to 5,200,000 BAM. In this way, a functional snowmaking system is established on almost all existing ski slopes in Bjelasnica, significantly contributing to the development of recreational tourism. Furthermore, the implementation of this project opens up the possibility of applying for sports competitions, the infrastructure would be improved, the season would be extended, and the number of visitors and users of ZOI 84 services would increase, which ultimately results in an increase in the company’s income.

The government decision of the Ministry of Economy also approved the co-financing of the reconstruction of existing and the construction of new ski slopes, for which 2,270,000 BAM is provided. And with the implementation of this project, trails would be reconstructed, that is, trails would be built with the establishment of high international FIS and ecological standards, then it would significantly contribute to the development of recreational tourism as well as the possibility of applying for sports competitions, the infrastructure would be improved, the season would be extended…
