Canton Sarajevo records 850 New COVID-19 Cases

After the analysis of 2,054 samples, collected in the period from October 27 to November 4 this year, including the remaining tests collected by the Public Health Center of Canton Sarajevo and processed in private laboratories, 850 newly infected people with coronavirus were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton.

A total of 485 people, or 57.05 percent, belong to the family clusters or contacts of previously ill people, and they are in self-isolation from before.

In the previous 24 hours, the recovery of 186 people was recorded, so that the number of active cases of coronavirus infection is currently 4,367.

On hospital treatment in the isolators of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo in Podhrastovi, there are 106 patients and in the General Hospital “Prof.dr. Abdulah Nakas ”, there are 60 patients, seven of whom use mechanical respirator support when breathing, while four of them were released from hospitalization from these isolators during the past 24 hours.

Unfortunately, there were also three deaths in treatment, so that the total number of deaths from the effects of coronavirus infection increased to 136.

To date, 10,839 infected persons have been confirmed in Sarajevo Canton, of whom 6,336 have recovered from COVID infection. In the period from October 21 to November 5 this year, 5,450 self-isolations were ordered.
