Canton Sarajevo visited by Record Number of Tourists

Canton Sarajevo was visited by 68,656 tourists in October this year, who realized a total of 130,316 overnight stays.

The number of tourists in the first ten months of this year who visited the Canton of Sarajevo, compared to the same period last year, increased by 16.6 percent, while the number of overnight stays increased by 17 percent.

According to the data of the Institute for Informatics and Statistics of the Canton of Sarajevo, of the total number of guests in October this year, 59,791 were foreign tourists, which is 87.1 percent of the total and 8,865 domestic tourists, or 12.9 percent of the total number of tourists.

The largest number of tourists in October this year in the Canton of Sarajevo was registered from China (10,077), Croatia (5,852), Turkey (4,815), Slovenia (3,453), Serbia (2,743) and Germany (2,452).

In the structure of overnight stays in Sarajevo Canton, the largest number of overnight stays was recorded by tourists from China (12,827), Croatia (9,924), Turkey (9,031), Slovenia (5,409), USA (5,138) and Serbia (4,966). In October, Sarajevo Canton was visited by tourists from more than 80 countries.
