The third international cycling caravan of friendship “Mostar-Vukovar“, which is organized by the Bicycle club Mostar and Association for the promotion of cycling “Herzegovina Bike“ under the auspices of the Croatian member of the BiH Presidency, Dragan Covic, and the Croatian president, Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic, started last morning in front of the Croatian home “Herceg Stjepan Kosaca“ in Mostar.
25 cyclists from Mostar, Citluk, Siroki Brijeg and Vukovar started a 400 kilometer long journey, and cyclists from the central Bosnia and Posavina will join them through the journey.
After they laid wreath and lid candles at the memorial monument for fallen defenders in front of Kosaca, participants of caravan started a journey toward Vukovar despite the bad weather.
President of the Cycling Club Mostar, Toni Zoric, explained that with the bicycle caravan, they want to improve friendly relations between BiH and Croatia, as well as between the City of Mostar and the City of Vukovar, and to pay tribute to all victims in BiH and Croatia, especially in Vukovar.
Secretary of the Association for the promotion of cycling “Herzegovina bike“, Goran Prskalo, explained that the cycling caravan will last five days, and will be consisted of four stages in the total length of 420 kilometers.
“The youngest participant of the Caravan is 10 years old, and what they are especially proud on is that four woman from Mostar and Citluk participate in caravan this year“, said Prskalo, and thanked to all those who helped in the organization of this caravan.
