catherine-ashtonHigh Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy for the EU Catherine Ashton will not come to B&H this week, as it was earlier announced.

The Spokesperson of the EU in Sarajevo Andy McGuffiee said to Fena that Ashton plans to visit B&H in the next few weeks.

‘’The date of her visit will be announced as soon as possible’, said McGuffie.

According to unconfirmed information, Ashton made the decision to postpone her arrival to Sarajevo due to a special meeting of ministers of foreign affairs of the EU on occasion of the violent protests in Ukraine.

Fena unofficially learned that Ashton was very interested to visit B&H and that preparations of setting a date for her visit are underway.

Ashton was originally supposed to travel to B&H with the European Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fule, who was in Sarajevo this week to speak with B&H political leaders on the implementation of the ruling at the European Court of Human Rights “Sejdić -Finci”.
