catherine-ashton (1)Catherine Ashton, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) this Wednesday, 12 March. She will meet the leaders of BiH institutions and the civil society to discuss the situation in the country, ahead of discussions with Member States in the coming weeks.

“I am returning to Sarajevo to meet the leaders of the institutions and civil society to hear their views about the situation in the country and how to address the concerns of the people, particularly the economic and social ones. It is important that the leadership of Bosnia and Herzegovina responds to these concerns, and the European Union will add its support to efforts that bring real benefits to the people of BiH,” said Catherine Ashton ahead of the visit.

In Sarajevo, the High Representative will meet with members of the Presidency of BiH, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Entity Prime Ministers, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH and with the representatives of civil society organisations. She will hold a press point at the end of the visit, at the EU Info Centre in Sarajevo.
