The Central Election Commission of BiH (CEC) issued a decision to annul the election in Stolac at 23 polling stations on Thursday in Sarajevo.
Elections in Stolac were interrupted on the 2nd of October 2016, and 14 days from the decision, the CEC must call elections in Stolac.
Four members of the commission voted for the decision to annul the election in Stolac, while the member of the CEC Branko Petric gave his voice to this decision by a telephone call.
Ahmet Santic, who was against the decision, also voted by the phone and said that the elections should be annulled in all polling stations in the city, including mobile teams.
The deadline to appeal the decision is two days. With the earlier decision of the CEC, which was confirmed by the Appellate Chamber of the Court, candidate Salmir Kaplan has been deleted from the lists of candidates for mayor of this city.
For the replacement of the President of Municipal Election Commission Stolac was appointed Jozo Matic, the municipal attorney in Stolac, while for the substitute members were appointed Rifat Zlomuzica, who is currently a member of the City Election Commission in Mostar, and Predrag Supljegljav, a former member of the City Election Commission in Mostar. All of them are qualified lawyers.
The CEC has adopted a conclusion on claiming the funds from the reserve budget of BiH institutions for 2017 in the amount of 19,000 BAM. These funds are needed for the activities that are carried out by the CEC, while fees for members of the commission will be ensured by municipalities.
