Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said in Brussels on Thursday that consultations are underway with coalition partner the Homeland Movement (DP) on the final form of a resolution on strengthening the position of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which the party is proposing.
“At the last coalition meeting, we agreed that, when our colleagues complete their draft, we will hold consultations with Minister Gordan Grlić Radman, who is responsible for foreign and European policy, including relations with neighbors, and that consultation process is ongoing. We will see what the final version will look like in the end,” Plenković said upon arriving at the EU summit, Hina reported.
The Homeland Movement reported on Wednesday that they held their first meeting with HDZ representatives on Wednesday, where they discussed the DP’s proposal for a parliamentary resolution on strengthening the political position of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which, among other things, calls for the establishment of a separate electoral unit for Croats in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“We resolutely reject the usual groundless remarks that the Republic of Croatia should not interfere in the internal affairs of a neighboring country. The Republic of Croatia is not only a co-signatory of the Washington and Dayton Agreements, but also has a constitutional and political responsibility towards the Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the DP said in a press release.
