The Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH pointed out the importance of introducing new technologies in the election process, so it informed the representatives of the US administration and the OSCE Mission to BiH that it had sent an additional budget request to the BiH Council of Ministers.
The meeting expressed support for the efforts of the CEC and the dedicated engagement of this institution in improving the electoral system and electoral legislation in BiH.
At a meeting in Sarajevo, CEC members briefed US Special Envoy for Electoral Reforms in BiH Matthew Palmer, US Ambassador to BiH Eric Nelson and OSCE Mission Chief Kathleen Cavalec on key elements of the initiative to pass the BiH Election Law which was sent to the BiH Parliamentary Assembly on 16 September.
The need was expressed for the initiative to be considered most seriously in the Parliamentary Assembly, the CEC stated in the press release.
