The 2024 Paris Summer Olympics officially began with a spectacular opening ceremony tonight on the Seine River.
France intends to delight the world with an extravagant opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in the heart of Paris, and around 45,000 policemen, 10,000 soldiers and 2,000 private security guards ensure the safety of the parade along the Seine River, its banks and the surrounding cultural and historical monuments.
All the national teams that brought a total of 10,500 athletes to the Olympics were presented, including the BiH Olympic team with five competitors.
The Olympic team from Bosnia and Herzegovina paraded through Paris. Sportsmen Larisa Cerić and Mesud Pezer have the honor of carrying the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bosnia and Herzegovina will be represented by five athletes, namely swimmers Lana Pudar and Jovan Lekić, athlete Mesud Pezer and judokas Larisa Cerić and Aleksandra Samardžić.
This will be the third Olympic Games for Larisa Cerić and Mesuda Pezera, the second for Lana Pudar, while Aleksandra Samardžić and Jovan Lekić will debut in Paris.
Pudar and Lekić will be the first of our athletes to enter the sports fields, who will perform in the qualifiers on July 27 at 11 a.m.
The Olympic Games in Paris will cost around 11 billion euros, which is twice as much as the originally estimated cost, and the opening ceremony of the Games itself will cost France 122 million euros. The next games will be hosted by Los Angeles, BHRT writes.
