“It is important that Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) gets the opening of negotiations in March, that is an important moment, we have to be honest. I am grateful to everyone who participated in such a decision. I see that there is a positive mood toward our decision”, said the Chairman of the BiH Presidency Zeljko Komsic as part of yesterday‘s panel at the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya.
“The atmosphere is positive, that’s my impression when it comes to the European Union (EU). We still have that obligation. I am an optimist and somehow I believe that everything will be positive”, said Komsic.
He points out that there is always something to worry about in the Balkans.
“Unfortunately, in the Balkans and BiH, you always have something to worry about. I deeply believe that BiH should have friends all over the world and that is not disputable. But somehow our path is known, it is clear. It stems from the very geographical position, we belong to Europe. The most logical thing is for us to be in that family of nations. This means the EU, but also NATO”.
Referring to the recent statements of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Komsic said:
“What will Putin do? I don’t know, I really don’t. There is a lot of information that it is about pressure on the Baltic countries, on Scandinavia. We will follow everything that happens, but what I can see is that Russia is still focused on Ukraine and is focusing most of its resources there”.
“In the Balkans, you always have the right to be constantly on your guard. What worries me in the region is the increased armament. Serbia spends huge sums of money, Croatia is part of NATO. What I know is that no one buys weapons and accumulates an army if they don’t intend to use them,” said Komsic, N1 writes.
