The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, spoke today with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Julian Reilly.
Bećirović again pointed out that it is very important for the strengthening of peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region to adopt the resolution on July 11 as the international day of remembrance and commemoration of the genocide in Srebrenica committed in 1995. It was pointed out that the adoption of the resolution in the UN General Assembly would show solidarity with the families of the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica and demonstrated commitment to justice and truth.
The meeting also discussed the political and security situation in our country and the region.
Bećirović said that all politicians in the Western Balkans region should respect international law and contribute to building stability and security in this part of Europe. Good regional cooperation is in the interest of all the countries of this region, and that is why it is important that the messages of the highest officials are responsible and calming.
Ambassador Reilly pointed out that the United Kingdom will protect the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and strongly continue to support the democratic and multi-ethnic state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He reiterated his support for Bosnia and Herzegovina on the way to European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The interlocutors concluded that bilateral relations between the two countries are good and extremely friendly, the Cabinet of the Chairman of the BiH Presidency announced.
