Chairman of BiH Presidency Nebojša Radmanović Received Ambassador of Japan to BiH Hideo Yamazaki

Ambassador Yamazaki informed Chairman of the BiH Presidency Radmanović of the newest first aid package of the government of Japan for the current fiscal year, which is ending in March 2013. The Japanese government approved the implementation of ten infrastructure aid projects to BiH in this period, including both entities-the RS and the FBiH. The projects relate to the reconstruction of schools, construction of landfills for waste disposal, water supply projects and electrification projects for local communities, construction of facilities for medical services and strengthening the tourist potential of the country. Chairman Radmanović thanked the Ambassador of Japan for the support that Japan lent to BiH in the last period, and especially for the last decision of the Japanese government. Japan has continued to help BiH and, what is most important, is that this help was never based on a condition for some political reasons. The last aid package of the Japanese government to BiH would further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries and accelerate the improvement of bilateral cooperation, said Chairman Radmanović.

They exchanged opinions of the current political situation in BiH, problems related to the FBiH government, tasks and plans for the new RS government and meeting the requirements of BiH towards its European path. Speaking of the events in the FBiH, Chairman Radmanović said that these events are plaguing the overall development of the country and threaten to block everyday life in this entity. They agreed that local politicians should take all responsibility for the future of the country, and the international community should help as much as they can. At this moment, we all have to concentrate on changing the Constitution of BiH and implementing the “Sejdić-Finci” ruling as an important condition for the process of European integration.

At the end of the discussion, Chairman Radmanović spoke with Ambassador Yamazaki of the various attitudes of the public in the two BiH entities related to NATO membership, and of the current problems connected to this process.
