The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, spoke yesterday in Brussels with the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Joseph Borrell, about the Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Krišto said that the granting of candidate status to our country was a significant step forward that gives a new dimension to the relations between BiH and the EU and a motive for the maximum engagement of the institutions responsible for European integration issues.

She added that the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has already adopted several documents important for the integration process and determined the draft budget for the current year, which will facilitate the implementation of the planned reform programs.

Borrell emphasized the specificity of the current moment in which Bosnia and Herzegovina, by acquiring candidate status, has moved from the Dayton phase to the Brussels phase, because Brussels is its final destination.

He reminded that the expectations of the European Union, in the form of the fulfillment of 14 priorities, from the newly established authorities are high, but that he has confidence, based on what has been seen so far, that such expectations would be met.

Borrell congratulated Krišto on the adoption of the Program of Economic Reforms for the period 2023-2025.

He recalled the importance of the high-level political forum in which the implementation of all activities facing Bosnia and Herzegovina would be monitored, said the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
