The Chairperson of the BiH Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, sent a letter and information to the Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement of the EU, Oliver Varhelyi, with an overview of the key reforms that have been carried out in the last year, as well as those that are being worked on intensively and are in the final phase. The chairwoman sent the letter with information in anticipation of the upcoming decision of the European Council on the start of negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“In the firm belief that, based on the above-mentioned achieved results, we have achieved an appropriate level of compliance with European criteria, I am sending you attached Information with an overview of the key reforms that have been made in the last year, as well as those that we are working on intensively and that are in the final phase. The activities we have achieved are the result of our comprehensive and dedicated work, as well as the cooperation of competent institutions at all levels of government. These achieved goals, although they are only a part of a wider range of activities that we have carried out, are of vital importance for our next step towards membership in the European Union. With every step we strengthen the foundations of our future integration into the European family. We remain firmly committed to the fulfillment of key priorities and the implementation of reform processes,” said Chairperson Kristo in a letter to Commissioner Varhelyi.

The chairwoman informed the commissioner that at the upcoming session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there will be several documents key to fulfilling the reform obligations of our country, including the law on the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

She said that all these processes require the daily commitment, cooperation and determination of all political representatives, which is clearly visible, and all in order to ensure that Bosnia and Herzegovina realizes its full potential and becomes a stable, prosperous and functional state, a full member of the European Union. In this atmosphere, she emphasized once again that everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina expects a positive decision by the European Council on the opening of negotiations with our country this month.
