Chairwoman of BiH Presidency: Becirovic is not BiH and does not represent BiH

The Chairperson of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, stated that BiH Presidency Member Denis Bećirović “is not BiH, does not represent BiH and does not speak on its behalf”.

“Everything he said at the meeting, and what he announced afterwards, he did on his own, not on behalf of BiH and certainly not on behalf of the Republika Srpska or the Serbian people”, said Cvijanović, commenting on Bećirović’s statement that the international community will not tolerate attempts to violate the Dayton Agreement.

Cvijanović told RTRS that the current crisis was not caused by Republika Srpska, but by High Representative Christian Schmidt, with his, as she stated, “illegal decisions to which he would not have had the right even if he had been elected in accordance with the Dayton Agreement”.

BiH Presidency Member Denis Bećirović held a meeting with the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, the Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH, Luigi Sorrec, the ambassadors of the PIC Steering Board member states, the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH, and the commanders of EUFOR and NATO. The meeting discussed, as stated in a statement from Bećirović’s office, the most dangerous attacks on the foundations of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina directed by Milorad Dodik and his followers.
