The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, officially opened the 27th International Economic Fair in Mostar, highlighting its importance as one of the key regional events and stressing Bosnia and Herzegovina’s potential for further economic development and international cooperation.
“And this year it really represents one of the most significant regional events,” said Kristo, adding that 27 years of tradition has made this city the center of new business ideas.
Speaking about the role of the fair, she pointed out that through this event, new visions that modern economies and economies in the world require are witnessed, and reminded that in almost three decades this fair has become a place that attracts new ideas and opens up space for the knowledge of our people to be placed on new markets.
She also emphasized the importance of exhibitors, pointing out that numerous exhibitors this year, through the presentation of goods and services, will be a generator of our economic opportunities in various areas, which, she added, is the best proof that our competitiveness and readiness is also for appearing on the markets of other countries.
Kristo also referred to contemporary global trends, stating that new technological achievements and digital transformation actually shape both the time that is now and the time to come, and pointed out that the fair is an opportunity for Bosnia and Herzegovina to show that it is a credible partner that possesses exceptional potential and capacities in this area as well”.
“In this way, we are also sending the message that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country rich in natural resources, a country with a stable business environment and a country in which it is worth investing – she said, adding that “our potential, natural and human, is an opportunity to position ourselves on a regional, European and global level”.
She expressed her belief that this year’s fair will be an opportunity “for new cooperation agreements, for new partnerships”, and assessed that such meetings represent “momentum in these challenging times in which we all find ourselves together”.
Speaking about economic challenges, she said that “shocks in global markets and inflationary pressures are the current reality, but they can also be an opportunity, and that is a way to consolidate ourselves”. On behalf of the Council of Ministers of BiH, she said that the institutions will do everything to somehow consolidate these opportunities”, emphasizing that “the best way is responsibility through institutions and cooperation with the real sector”.
Kristo thanked international partners, especially Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, pointing out that his arrival sends messages of support and partnership in various fields.
In the following, she emphasized the strategic goal of Bosnia and Herzegovina, saying that our most important foreign policy goal is that BiH wants to become part of the European community, noting that solving internal political challenges and strengthening the institutional framework is necessary for progress.
“It is an interest in survival, security, and I would say the European future of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” she said, adding that it is necessary to ensure a higher level of democracy, including the right for the Croatian constituent people to elect their political representatives.
At the end of her address, she wished the exhibitors successful work and officially opened the 27th International Business Fair, where around 900 exhibitors from 27 countries will present until April 18, Federalna writes.
