With banners about children’s rights, children of Zenica marked their holiday, the Children’s Week, at the Square of Alija Izetbegović in Zenica yesterday, sending a message to their fellow citizens how all of them are equal.
Organizer of yesterday’s event in the Center of Zenica was the Association Medica Zenica and the Society of Social Workers of Zenica-Doboj Canton, with support from the Ministry of Labor, Social Policy and Refugees of the ZDK. The aim was to point to the significance of the promotion and protection of children’s rights.
Educational and entertaining program was complemented by children with developmental disabilities, who sent a message to their fellow citizens that they should enjoy the same rights like every other child in the city.
Minister of Labor, Social Policy and Refugees of ZDK Nurđehan Šahinović said that children were very clear at the Square of Alija Izetbegović.
“Children were very clear. They got out there and read only some of their rights, and every child is equal. Fundamental postulate of every society is investing in children, thus we should all be aware of individual and collective responsibility when it comes to protection of the rights of every child,” said Šahinović.
Participants of the program in Zenica received gifts and citizens got the clear message that children’s rights must not be violated and that discrimination on any basis among children must not exist.
