The company produces packaging for sushi and other products made from paper, plastic, and vacuum-heated foil.

The Mayor of Derventa, Igor Zunic, visited the Chinese company Grand Pack, which specializes in manufacturing disposable paper and PET packaging and has been operating successfully in the city for three years.

Zunic expressed his satisfaction that the Chinese company chose Derventa to launch its business, noting that they found better conditions there compared to neighboring countries and the European Union (EU).

“Their product is in high demand on the market, and I am pleased that Chinese companies are coming to Derventa to operate and employ our people. I believe that in the next four years, we will attract even more foreign investors, whether Chinese, Russian, or from EU countries. In the coming period, the economy will be the focus of public administration, and we expect new investors and business zones,” said Zunic, adding that everyone is welcome in Derventa.

The General Manager of the company, Xiao Zhou, emphasized that the proximity to the EU was a decisive factor in starting the business in Derventa, where they currently employ 35 workers.

“Until August of this year, we operated two production lines in a smaller facility. Due to increased demand for our products, we now run 11 lines in a larger facility. Our products are exclusively sold on the EU market, with monthly shipments of 10 to 12 trucks, each carrying 30.000 – 45.000 items,” Zhou stated, adding that six Chinese experts are also engaged in the operation.

The company highlighted plans to expand production and increase the number of production lines.

Since the start of production in Derventa, Vladimir Djuricic has been with the company and says that working conditions are excellent.

“Although the goods are exported for Chinese restaurants in the EU, we are also seeing growing demand in the markets of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Serbia. The working conditions are good, and we produce packaging for sushi and other items made from paper, plastic, and vacuum-heated foil,” Djuricic stated.

Currently, over 30 foreign companies operate in the city on the Ukrina River, Biznis Info writes.
