The Chinese Mayor handed over a Gift from Tianjin Children to Zvizdic

Yesterday in Sarajevo, The Chairman of the Council of Ministers (CoM) of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Denis Zvizdic, hosted a delegation of the city administration of Tianjin, headed by the Deputy Mayor, Zhao Haishan.

Chairman Zvizdic said that the cooperation between BiH and the People’s Republic of China marked great progress through the initiative “One Belt – One Road” and that significant projects are already being realized within this initiative. He added that he was pleased that this cooperation began to be realized at lower levels wtihin local administrations, which will certainly contribute to progress in many fields such as; culture, education, tourism, while contributing to creating new investment opportunities and enhancing infrastructure. He emphasized that cities in BiH can learn a lot about local development from Tianjin, especially in the fields of tourism and free trade zones.

Haishan presented to Chairman Zvizdic a rich history and development experiences of the cultural and economic center of the Northern China, Tianjin – one of the world’s largest ports.

He said that the fact that the cities of Sarajevo and Tianjin are sister cities since 1981, represents a good basis for improving cooperation in all areas. He emphasized his interest in the development of cooperation in the fields of culture, sport and education, which enables cooperation in the field of tourism.

The Chairman Zvizdic emphasized the interest of BiH in the strengthening cooperation in the fields of education and culture through cooperation between universities, and enhancing cooperation in the field of tourism. He pointed out that BiH is particularly interested in the exchange of knowledge and new technologies, as well as educational and cultural projects that would involve several BiH cities.

Haishan handed over a gift cloth to Zvizdic, which was made by the children of Tianjin, who invited him to visit their city.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to BiH – Chen Bo.
