Cikotic-Lukac: To establish full Operational Cooperation with EUROPOL

Today in Sarajevo, the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Selmo Cikotic, met with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, Dragan Lukac, with whom he discussed the security situation and the improvement of cooperation in the security sector.

“Special focus was on the implementation of the remaining obligations in order to establish full operational cooperation with EUROPOL. It was assessed that all obstacles to the final implementation of this obligation of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the European path and the beginning of exchange of operational information with this important police institution “, the Ministry of Security of BiH announced.

Also, information was exchanged on the migrant situation and cooperation of police agencies in preventing illegal migration.

“It was emphasized that the RS Ministry of the Interior will continue to send police officers to assist the BiH Border Police, in order to better control and monitor the eastern border of BiH,” the statement said after the meeting.

They also discussed the possibility of cooperation in the field of training and education of police officers in order to fill the missing staff in police agencies as soon as possible.

“The importance of continuing cooperation and timely exchange of information between police agencies in the fight against all forms of organized crime and other security threats was emphasized,” the BiH Ministry of Security said.
