Yesterday in Belgrade, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, met with the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Christian Schmidt.
The two interlocutors analyzed the situation in the region, especially in BiH, and Schmidt expressed his view on the reasons for using the Bonn powers, Klix.ba writes.
”Vucic expressed his disagreement with the latest decisions and the application of the Bonn powers, which he believes do not contribute to stability, ” it is stated in the announcement of the Office for Media relations of the President of Serbia.
They agreed that preserving peace in BiH and the entire region is crucial for the economic progress of the Western Balkans.
This official visit of the High Representative Christian Schmidt to Belgrade comes two days after he decided to suspend the application of the unconstitutional Law on Immovable Property of the Republika Srpska (RS), but also more frequent and brutal attacks by SNSD leader Milorad Dodik and his partners.
Interestingly, none of the Serbian officials spoke until yesterday after the last move of the High Representative, unlike the officials from the RS who made the most serious accusations against Schmidt.
Vucic and Schmidt officially met once in September last year to discuss the political situation in the region. Unlike RS officials, Vucic acknowledges Christian Schmidt’s legitimacy as High Representative.
